How I Work

To me, weddings are personal work that I just happen to make my living with. Photographing weddings is my way to try and contribute something positive and meaningful back to the world, and it's important to me. I don't photograph weddings to try to get published on blogs or in magazines. I don't photograph weddings to try to impress other photographers. I photograph them for you, with you and your loved ones in my mind and my heart, and I believe that's how it should be. My goal with every wedding is to get to know the couple before their wedding day so that I can tell their story in an honest way. I try to take and deliver a good mix of moments that you never want to forget and moments you didn't even know were happening, some posed portraits that show how dang good lookin' you and your fiance and your families are, and most importantly, images that will, for years to come, remind you of all the reasons why you chose one another

A little about me

Things I love: my little family, made up of my husband, Joe, our dog Vienna, and our cats Luna and Scout, obsessing over my couples' pets (no, really, please send me pictures of your dog/cat/iguana/fish/whatever!!), gardening at our little community plot down the street, hiking with my husband and our pup, rock climbing, good conversations, earning a smile, meeting new people and making new friends, St. Simons Island, constantly re-watching seasons 1-7 of The Office, giant oak trees, every season but winter, spending time with my family, cinnamon rolls, pick up soccer games, trivia night at the local bar, and of course, photography!

Things I've done: shaved my head after raising nearly $13k for Komen North Jersey in honor of my mom's 10 year battle with breast cancer (my hair's grown back now!), raised another $5k and worked for SGKNJ the next year in memory of my mom, won a photography contest to photograph Taylor Swift and star in a Sony commercial for the NEX-5r, married my high school sweetheart and best friend,  traveled to Paris and Colorado for life-changing photography workshops, graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University, completed the Insanity program, assisted Joseph Gordon-Levitt on his HitRecord.Org tour, and one time ordered 2 appetizers, 4 entrees, and a pizza for dinner with a friend who had an $80 Groupon expiring the next day (we didn't end up finishing anything, but it was pretty epic looking!).
